Celebrity Celery

With celery gifted to us from a friends garden, we figured it was a good time to experiment with a celery soup…. If that was even a thing. Sure enough, it was, and the celery was the celebrity of the dish. With my truck at the shop, I wasn’t sure if I’d make it to S.C. (Not South Carolina) on my contributing day, but once we hatched a plan to share cars, it was on. A rinse of the celery, a few chops and we were soupin’. My wife, Justy, was shouting out the ingredients and steps, I was concocting the base. Homemade broth, garlic, leeks. Once the celery was added, my house smelled like a massive Bloody Mary. With a quick pulse from the emersion blender (is it really a Yavello soup with out the emersion blender?) and the last few ingredients, we had something we could stand behind…kinda. It wouldn’t be our best soup (Kevin 8.2, Conlon 8.0, Tam 6.0, Jeff 5.5: 6.9 total and lowest since the S.C.’s inception), but it sure was healthy and we had fun.
